Here I am in Paris looking forward to the #Quality2014 conference.
In my last blog, I promised that I would take you all with me…

It is the first time I have been in France on my own since I was a student. Family holidays are very different.
I went for a walk to breathe in the atmosphere and walk back in time. I spent a year in France as a student, teaching. The memories came flooding back. We all have our own unique stories that nobody else really knows. Already my feelings of excitement, slight loneliness, deep reminiscence and how we all need to be connected were resonating with the key themes of my presentation. An uncanny serendipity was happening. I shall tell the rest of the story in tweetsβ¦
I have been reflecting on the opportunity on Friday. Talking about #PtExp at #Quality2014. So I walked round Paris… pic.twitter.com/coTVombPW9

I was in my own shoes. Reflecting. Hoping 2 find good omens.

#Shoes. The golden thread of my #Quality2014 presentation. I even found some for pirates! @helenbevan look at these! pic.twitter.com/58XTNyEOFM
— Gill Phillips (@WhoseShoes) April 8, 2014
Haha, now I'm getting all the #shoes people in the world following me. For the avoidance of doubt, I am not tweeting about #shoes per se π
— Gill Phillips (@WhoseShoes) April 8, 2014
Yay! #Purple shoes! I thought of @dragonmisery @allyc375 & all #shcrchat #boatrockers!! π @helenbevan #Quality2014 pic.twitter.com/s4tw3vNHai

On Fri, at my #Quality2014 session, we're going to bring REAL people into the room. And I found them here in #Paris! pic.twitter.com/yDUWvsoACu

Now #Paris is to Cambridge as motor bikes are to _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Yep, that's how I passed my 11+ many moons ago. ππππ #Quality2014

We will meet @kenhowarduk & hear how it FEELS to be diagnosed with #dementia. We'll walk in Ken's shoes. #Quality2014 http://t.co/rx6ze42jar

I walked on and grew peckish. My friend @dragonmisery sent me some #whoseschoux π #Quality2014 #dementiachallengers pic.twitter.com/XAa0a0SFGL

So I walked on thinking of @kateswaffer. How we're using #whoseshoes to trigger lightbulb moments. Wow! #Quality2014 pic.twitter.com/Tpk1lTxLg5

Dear @KateSwaffer. We have so much fun! But @KateSwaffer paddles harder. She speaks powerfully on Friday #Quality2014 pic.twitter.com/XD72RSAheN
— Gill Phillips (@WhoseShoes) April 8, 2014
Suddenly I see this! "Allumez vos feux". Light your fires?? π₯π₯
Strange sign but so very apt! #Quality2014 pic.twitter.com/v9YYhmlF2a— Gill Phillips (@WhoseShoes) April 8, 2014
I need to sit down for a mo. Of course, I find some #purple chairs. Different sizes. Very inclusive π;-) #Quality2014 pic.twitter.com/G22BMd3Svz

I only have about 20 minutes on Friday. I hope the pictures and voices speak for themselves. #Quality2014 #lessismore pic.twitter.com/XPESlBhQIR

And as the light goes, it becomes more atmospheric.
I start to feel at home. π #Quality2014 #Paris pic.twitter.com/PU8VjgLMI6— Gill Phillips (@WhoseShoes) April 8, 2014
Daft thought but I wonder if my pals @Crouchendtiger7 @trainingcarers are in the bar watching football. Who knows? π pic.twitter.com/eV1ARRYfKF

And even the Palais des CongrΓ¨s looks friendly at night. π
I am glad I went walkabout.
Good night all. π€π€ pic.twitter.com/0SZ4eN5SGQ— Gill Phillips (@WhoseShoes) April 8, 2014
